Each of the members of Vital Information has extensive jazz, rock and fusion backgrounds. With Modern Drummer's Hall-of-Famer Steve Smith/drums (Journey, Steps Ahead), Vinny Valentino/guitar, 'a young genius with brilliant tone and fresh ideas' (George Benson), Tom Coster/Hammond B3 and accordion (Santana), and Baron Browne/bass (Jean-Luc Ponty), this high-energy, soul-jazz and "beyond" quartet has developed an innovative new take on electric jazz.

Their latest CD, Vitalization, the band's 14th and their first on Hudson Music and with Vinny Valentino, not only exemplifies their signature jazz fusion but also their ever expanding music territory including Konnakol (South Indian vocal percussion) as well as percussive sounds from around the world creating a multi-layered poly-fusion both familiar and fresh.
