Summit, led by saxophonist/composer George Brooks, anchored by the extraordinary drummers Zakir Hussain and Steve Smith, and featuring the beautiful guitar and bass of Fareed Haque and Kai Eckhardt, represents a wide swath of cultural diversity. Their unique brand of fascinating yet accessible jazz is inspired by the rhythmic complexity and melodic depth of North Indian raga.

Summit creates a rich fabric of Jazz and Raga which represent two of the world's richest and most highly developed improvised art forms. Their collective recordings, performances and collaborations with a wide variety of artists including Etta James, Trilok Gurtu, Yo-Yo Ma, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Ravi Shankar, and Van Morrison, further defines the extraordinary but accessible global and genre eclecticism heard in their music.
