Steve Smith's Jazz Legacy on Tour

Playing a combination of their own original compositions plus arrangements honoring some of the great jazz drummers, including Art Blakey, Elvin Jones, Tony Williams, Philly Joe Jones and others, Steve Smith's Jazz Legacy has developed a unique "small big band" sound and is carrying on the tradition of drummer-led jazz groups, communicating with music lovers of all generations, striving for excellence, and playing non-compromising, burning, straight-ahead jazz.

In June, 2008, Hudson Music released a double DVD/CD entitled Steve Smith Drum Legacy - Standing on the Shoulders of Giants, a five-hour educational program featuring Steve Smith's Jazz Legacy. The package includes a complete one-hour performance by the band from the 2006 Modern Drummer Festival, plus a new CD, "Live On Tour, Vol. 1," recorded at Catalina's Jazz Club in Los Angeles.
