Tim Garland is one of the UK's finest jazz exports. In May, 2006, the UK Parliament awarded him "Musician of the Year."

Also in 2006 Tim Garland's Lighthouse Project and their highly acclaimed CD "If the Sea Replied" received the BBC Radio 3 Award for Innovation.

The dazzling core trio of Israeli Asaf Sirkis-Udu/percussion, Tim Garland (Chick Corea's #1 choice)-reeds, and jazz piano prodigy Gwylim Simcock (who won both the BBC JAzz Award and British Jazz Award in 2005) fuse rhythms from the Middle East, Spain and South America with highly interactive and lyrical jazz. In the US they are joined by NY guitar virtuoso Paul Bollenback.

"A fine demonstration of Garland's growing range as a composer, brilliantly married to the instrumental wizardry of the drummer Asaf Sirkis and pianist Gwilym Simcock. Sirkis wrapped himself round a huge pot drum, called an udu, deftly combining his prodding, urgent rhythms with a booming bass register. Sure-footed virtuosity... [a] dazzling standard." — The Times, London

Garland has written for the LSO, the BBC Concert Orchestra, the Northern Sinfonia, Westminster Abbey Choir and many other ensembles that are drawn to his eclectic vision, he likes to refer to his wide ranging output as a "Diverse Unity."
